Water around the front spark plug?

If so, yes, quite common.

Probably you have a problem with the spark.
The water may be the cause, but try to control the carburation, or the exact distance of the electrodes.

In all instances where one pot isnt firing but the others are, checking the spark to that pot is the first thing to do. Probably a 90% chance it isnt sparking.

yup, very common - was it raining?

Happened all the time on mine till I asked on here and www.sv650.org. Gave it a good clean round the front plug, squireted a bit of WD40 and fitted a fender extender - problem solved!

As people have said, also check the water drain hole on the front cylinder see if it's blocked with road crud. Thumbs Up

Front cylinder fine? Well that's put the water idea out of the question. Do you have a manual? If so, check the rear coil resistances. Check the HT lead for corrosion. If the front is fine, I doubt the rear will be corroded, but you never know.
