Hi all
Question for a mate . He own the said bike.when starting from cold manual says it should be idling at 2k then drop to 1k when warmed up.but his bike idles at 3 to 3.5k .he says he needs to keep turning it on and of until it idles at 1k .other wise it gets very hot.any ideas what can be causing this.

The 929 and 954 Blades have a mechanical auto choke controlled by a wax pellet which has coolant running over it. As the coolant heats up the pellet expands and moves a rod attached to the stater valves.
Tell you mate to pull this out and give it a check in some cold and hot water. It should move about 5mm. It located just above the throttle bodies.
You can also balance the starter valves on these Blades, so that may also help.

My 954 idles fairly high until it gets warm. Never looked at the numbers on it, just need to be careful on tight roundabouts until it's warmed up. ____________________ My Flickr |
