Hey guys and girls....

I'm mia I've said hello in new bikers section Smile

Right, I've just passed my cbt! I didn't crash thank god.

I've bought my first lovely little bike a 2000 dtr s reg Smile

It's a lovely bike bought as non runner. Now it needed new cdi its was a 3rm cdi but I had to buy this one (smaller one) https://i63.tinypic.com/24ybrsy.jpg it's the one on the right the new one from another dtr 125 it's smaller and has less wires all I want is it to spark not fussed about lights I'm trying to work out what wires plug into where my loom is the 5 pin power servo loom but obviously the wires on the cdi are diffrent is there any way to find what wire could go where as to make it spark not sure what year cdi its from but it has a few bullet connectors it has I think 10 wires and my old 3rm cdi has maby 12-13

Once again I'm new and sorry for the mess off a post I'm a work lol Smile thank you in advance

In all honestly I would get a cdi for your modle of bike as all cdi,s are different as having more wires for different things like side stand switches and to a servo . But what was wrong with your old one. What you could do is get a wire diagram and work out what wires go where from the cdi on both models. But what makes you think the cdi has gone pop as it's cerro rear they do go if ever

Hey thanks for the reply

Right I have power from stator
New ignition coil
New spark plug
Contenuanty from side stand and cut out switches
There's power going into old cdi but when I put volt metre onto orange spade and an earth nothing at all so I assume cdi that's a good idea abt finding out from manual what wires go where just the new smaller cdi has no markings on its strange as my old big 3rm cdi does look good condition

Baffled lol x

Right ok you won't have power coming out as the pulse coil hasn't triped. I would join up the wires for the clutch and side stand switch first . And look for a bad earth . And see if your fly wheel turns when kicked over and make sure it hasn't shear off the wood ruf key. What cc is it and does it spark at all one way you can check for any power is to hold the plug with your two finger and kick over the engine slowly and feel if there is any power at all risky but can determine any low power issues.

The kill switch must not be grounded as it won't allow power to flow to the coil discontinued it and try and see what happens

Hey again Smile

Right woodruff key is perfect

Kill switch and cut off side stand both fine doubled checked

Clutch dosent have a wire on this bike

Tryed the touch spark plug not a zap at all

Earth's look good

Flywheel brand new

Pick up lead shows correct ohms also stator fine

I'm really thinking this cdi so need to find out what wire goes where I'll post a better pic of new cdi

Also it's a dtr 125cc s reg I'll post pics x

Dtr cdi aren't cries compatible with each other unless you really know what you are doing. I dont with these things, a friends shop had been trying to get then to work with each other for years with very little success.

Just get the correct one for your bike

Are you seriously trying to pretend this is just coincidence?

Dan Saunders has a DTR125 ignition issue, despite countless posts and sensible advice, he makes the situation worse, until people get so fed up with him they stop replying.

Dan Saunders then returns a few days later as DTR1251000 with the same problem. People get tired of his constant posting without listening, so stop answering.

Then a short while later another sock puppet turns up with a DTR with exactly the same problem, exactly the same incorrect ECU and the same surname, although this time he's a damsel in distress!

Seriously, do you think we were born yesterday?

As has been said countless times. Step away from the spanners, you don't listed to what people are telling you and you are creating more problems than you started with. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing and stop coming up with countless sock puppet accounts in the hope that someone will magically sort out the issues you've created by not listening.[/quote

Well proof is in the pooding but for some one to be so sure it's a false profile and trying to get answers and has not got to the bottom of the problem yet I think you best get it into a garage.

If you are genuine then a picture of you on the bike will solve a hole lot of trouble but the date of joining the forum. Is a bit suspicious.
