UPDATE: Have a document checking session 28th June
Hi,
Since i have been back from uni i have been working part time at a pub and have become more overdrawn than i thought i would and need more hours and i just cant get these in my current job (being seasonal, everyone full-time get the hours they need first)
Now, i have been thinking a lot about possible jobs i could also do to increase my income. Which has brought me to postman.
I quite enjoy walking and want to do some gental excerise over summer so think this would be really good for me. I would struggle with early mornings but my GF works at a newsagent and gets up for work at 6am which would give me some motivations (though we don't currently live together)
There are 3 postman positions within 25miles of me (i use to lifeguard 25miles away and quite enjoyed the ride there, even in winter) and think i would look ok for the job.
Now, my question is what's the best way to go about this?? I am here for 4 months and then back to uni, will this mean i will be turned down for the job? Would it be a possibility not mention uni and just leave after 4 months??
Thanks in advance  ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet

Hi
I would be honest about it as they do employ posties to cover busy periods and it could mean you have regular holiday work (christmas etc). You might want a reference later and its bound to come up when you say you have done a year at uni, you will either have to admit to wanting a summer job or say you have dropped out which wont look good.
Regards

I got a job at a local posh hotel working behind the bar, good thing is provided I perform well I can work there whenever I come back from uni. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Just turn up at the sorting office at 5am and ask if they need any casuals.
This is how I got working as a postie for the summer when I was a student.
They might, or might not, but will take you on quite easily
You'll only get 12 or 13 weeks of work in a go, before having to take a week 'off' because if you work longer, then you'd have to go on contract.
