I was thinking about getting a naked one of them myself for my commute. how are they to ride?
I hand my lid off the handlebar, since i don't have mirrors |

Sounds quite heavily restricted to me!
Ive restricted a couple of these and they will all pull to the ton, they just go a bit flat higher up in the revs.
Nice bike though! ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600

Sorry... transfixed, all I see is hat about to fall....... |
haha! Started doing that when i put it down on a load of ants once I'll never be doing THAT again
Brake reservoir is a good idea though
Covdude.... Rob snot??? Yeah coz ive never heard that before Just to confirm, i didnt put the stickers on, just so we're clear on that... it wasnt me!

Really nice to ride tbh, had my first tankslapper the other night in that really heavy rain, combination of me putting on too much power too soon, rain, and that shiny tarmac stuff Its all about learning with a new bike though eh.
| Nexus Icon wrote: | Are you sure you haven't slightly over-restricted it? |
That is a possibility its over restricted. i got the washers made up using measurements off the sv650 forum, the i.d was meant to be 18.41mm, they could only do 18mm but didnt think that would make much difference....would it?
| Nexus Icon wrote: | There is also the possibility that you're a bit, erm, heavier than I am but I'm 6'4 and 13.5st. |
I'm 6'4 but only 12 stone lost a fair bit of weight since i started working in a kitchen (should be the other way round, i know!) awkward hours means i miss tea and then just snack afterwards.
Im happy with it anyway, pursuit vehicle or not
I am terrified of dropping it, even basic maintenance like checking the oil and lubing the chain is a bitch! i was gonna get some crash bungs for it but i'd have to chop the lower fairings which i dont wanna do ____________________ First bike: 1982 Suzuki Gs 125 'The beast MK1' > 1988 Honda Cb 350's' FOR SPORT! Actually... Suppose i could just take them out and file down the holes a bit, wont be much obviously but i assume i'd have to keep the hole as circular as it is at the mo (if that makes sense ) ____________________ First bike: 1982 Suzuki Gs 125 'The beast MK1' > 1988 Honda Cb 350's' FOR SPORT! inb4 you'll get bored quickly.
oh wait
Had a blue W reg one, was alright after coming back up from a 125. Did get boring fast but sounds like you love it!
I had the front wobble, not so much a tank slapper, just a really long fast constant bar wobble after hitting a little rut in the road at 110 |

I've not had a tank slapper on mine yet, but it has 'shook it's head at me' a couple of times, the biggest was when it hit a catseye when I was winding on and moving out to overtake. It got the old ticker going a bit but everything was fine
Looking more closely at the pictures, it's had the exhaust chopped already and the standard can re-fitted to sell, this makes fitting a can a 10 min job at the most... DO IT!!! |

Sorry about the delay guys, been busy with work and shizz
Well... i decided to take the restrictors out and measure the diametre to see how far out they were. Got them out easy enough, things are so much easier once you know what you're doing arent they
Got them out, turns out instead of 18.41mm they were in fact 16mm! That explains it! I filed them both down as close as i could, chucked them back in and now it feels much better. Will go up to 90 easily enough, ducked my head down the other day and i can confirm for the first time, i have made it into triple figures Not being stupid or anything, havent done it since just wanted to see if my workmanship has worked. All on private roads ofcourse
Cheers for the comments guys, i am pleased with it
Oh no, dont go giving tef nightmares now!

I am tempted but since i've bought it etc. im a little skint My restrictions up in may and i feel fitting a new exhaust at the same time would be cool, bit of a present to myself for doing so well ____________________ First bike: 1982 Suzuki Gs 125 'The beast MK1' > 1988 Honda Cb 350's' FOR SPORT!
