Work out, roughly, the height the wheel needs to be above the ground, then make a wedge out of a block of wood! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Using that would be cheating.
Balancing the wheel on your foot whilst putting the axle and spacers in is an essential life skill. |

Ok this was on the CG but basically put the axle bolt through the left spacer and then lift the wheel up slightly. The bolt will slide into the wheel then just tap the bolt with a rubber mallet and rest on foot whilst you get the other spacer in position. then push bolt all the way through.
Now you have done that take it all apart again as you forgot the chain tensioner ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

I sit cross-legged under the swingarm so I'm resting the wheel on the cross of my legs, and it's easy to reach the axle. Apart from that, just like everyone else. The ABS sensor is a right git to get past the disc if everything's lined up; even the tyre place guy had trouble. ____________________ Honda Varadero 125cc => Suzuki Bandit 650 33bhp => 77bhp =>

Sell your bike. Buy one with a single sided swingarm. Lift the wheel onto the studs, tighten the nuts down.
Otherwise I also sit directly behind the bike, facing the front and lift the wheel into place using a foot. You can also pull the back of the bike down onto the wheel with the wheel on the ground if you have a mainstand. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I do recall the rear wheel spacers on my KLE500 being a bit of a sod.
I filed a slight chamfer on the outside edge of it where it butts against the chain adjuster which made it easier to move into position at a slight angle rather than having it fall out. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
