Noticed you don't get much fork dive. Is that your smooth riding or do those crusty forks hide some progressive springs?
Looking forward to seeing your old machine getting some TLC.

I couldn't ride something like that, in that condition, on the road at all. Time for a good clean and a bit of TLC ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

its neither neglect or usual suzuki finish, its the result of you silly brits salting your roads, there is no need for it,
when was the last time you saw a unrestored mk 1 escort?? or a cortina?? back in the early 90's??
they are still common as muck here in nz.
ban salting the roads i say,
and its a gs125, not an old norton ____________________ the humans are dead

I like your thinking but I'm curious as to if NZ gets a) as icy as the roads here get and b) has as many treacherous hilly and windy roads especially when point a is in effect? |
yeah we get all the same crap as you guys, in the south its probably gets colder,
but we just grit (small stones) over the ice and snow,
are you kidding about the hills??? our main highway is at a higher altitude than Ben Nevis, then there are the roads that head up into the hills from there. salt is the devil!!! the devil i tell you,
my vf1000 is an 84, its never been restored, and its been ridden in all weather for 88000 km, and there isnt a speck of rust on it
my van has 350000km on it, and there is 1 peice of surface rust the size of a 10p coin on it
the Norwegians don't salt there roads and they have far worse weather,
the right tyres and better driving skills works wonders,
i say let nature take its course and let darwin sort out the useless drivers ____________________ the humans are dead

Well today haven't got much done so far.
Got front wheel on, clocks and most of wiring done. Back brake assy and rear wheel kind of on.
Then it just started snowing epicly heavy. Big lumps of snow and quite fast. Not settling, far too warm as it is sunny but it is falling quickly. Really need the bike working by this evening |

Good luck mate, but don't do anything stupid like ride a bike that isn't ready to be ridden ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

Finally got it 95% together and went for a mini hoon to get petrol and make sure it was all ok.
Handlebars are in a much better position meaning I sit more upright.
Need to adjust rear brake
Headlight still needs sorting.
No indicators on it atm which is how I am leaving it till I have more time when I can tinker with it.
The lovely smell of burning hammerite as I pulled into the petrol station |
