I am a relatively new biker. Zipped about on a CG for a few months then took my full licence test a couple of weeks ago.

But one thing I instantly noticed from the very 1st day on that CG is that a good 70% of other bikers travelling in the opposite direction acknowledge you with a 'nod' Smile

It does not matter if they are on a superbike and your on a 125 with L plates they still acknowledge you.

So who 'nods' and how did this start. Question

Nick..

yes yes, nodding is a very important part of riding a bike, its an acknowelgment of respect and also that the other biker wants you to pull over into a side road so he can bash your back doors in and cum all over your face... Happened a few times to me, but guess its just biker code... Ive actually nearly crashed a few times as ive been more concerned with timing my nod properly and making sure i catch the nod back than keeping an eye on the cagers.
Im slowly getting there with my nod, ive nearly pulled of the effortless looking side of the head nod but it aint easy.

Can we not just have a sticky at the top of this section with everything you could ever need to know about nodding your head.

I was under the impression some bikers do and some don't and that there's all kinds of issues with peds not getting nods, sportsbike riders not nodding at cruisers and Harley riders not nodding at anyone.

I could be wrong though; why not start a thread to ask about it?

I've taken to doing a double thumbs up, maybe it'll put a stop this kind of thread. Trust me, it's gonna be a thing.
